5500 -YEAR-OLD LEATHER SHOE

The leather shoe was discovered in 2008. As evidenced by the excavating archeologists, the shoe was dated from 3500 BC by the radio-carbon analysis in spectrometry laboratories at the Universities of California and Oxford.
This permits considering the unique find, that came down to us in a state of stunning preservation, as “the world’s oldest shoe”.
Archeological excavations have been carried out in the cave called Areni-1 in Vayots Dzor region since 2007.
